Every year, April 20 is remembered by us as Disability Day. It is an important time for people with disabilities and people without disabilities to communicate and understand each other, and to promote the rights and welfare of people with disabilities. To commemorate this day, various events are held in Korea, among which the 44th Disability Day Celebration Concert is of special significance. The event, which will be held on April 18 at the Aram Music Hall in Aramnuri, Goyang, is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and several cultural organizations for people with disabilities.
The concert provides an opportunity for artists with disabilities to shine on stage, and delivers the message of integration through culture and arts by bringing together a choir with and without disabilities and a combined orchestra of people with developmental disabilities and people without disabilities. It is a chance to feel the beauty of a society where people with and without disabilities coexist and the power of culture and arts.
The performance is divided into two parts. In the first part, five artists with developmental disabilities will perform to the accompaniment of the Korea Federation Orchestra, and the second part will feature a performance by the Korea Federation Choir and the Korea Federation Orchestra with people with and without disabilities. The highlight of the concert will be the participation of past winners, including the Daegu Light Sol Choir, which won the Presidential Award at the 31st National Choir Competition for People with Disabilities to Commemorate World Disability Day last year.
The concert is free and open to the public, and after the performance, it will be available for viewing online through the KDA's YouTube channel. For more information and how to participate, visit the KCCA website.
An opportunity to understand and come together through culture and the arts, the 44th Disability Day Concert of Love provides a space for communication and empathy for both people with and without disabilities. On this special day, why not share the experience of unity through music? We look forward to your interest and participation in this event where you can feel the power of culture and art.
