About the Performance

Kim Sungyong’s latest work, init, marks the beginning of the DMAU (Dance Makes Asia become the Universe) project by the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company. This initiative aims to expand Asian dance exchanges and set new trends in global contemporary dance.

init explores themes like "complexity within simplicity," "depth in repetition," and "the coexistence of the unconscious and the conscious." The performance delves into the unique history of each dancer's body and the essence of dance itself. Using Kim Sungyong’s 'Process init' choreography methodology, the movements aim to remove barriers between the choreographer, dancer, and audience.
