Dive into Discovery at the 2024 South Korea Science Festival

 

From April 25th to 28th, Daejeon's Expo Citizen's Plaza and Expo Science Park will transform into an interactive hub for innovation during the 2024 South Korea Science Festival. This event coincides with the 5th National Science and Technology Fair, offering an enriched experience with over 425 programs from 218 organizations under the theme "The World's Largest Laboratory."

 

Interactive Zones and Engaging Activities

The festival is segmented into five interactive zones:

  • Science Talk Talk: Engage in discussions about scientific breakthroughs.
  • Science Lab: Ignite curiosity through hands-on experiments.
  • Science Museum: Explore the future of technology with exhibits like quantum computers and miniature gene scissors.
  • Science Lounge: Relax and recharge amidst scientific discussions.
  • Science Theme Park: Enjoy a plethora of fun science-themed activities.

 

Highlights and Special Events

Attend talks by notable scientists such as professors Jeong Jae-seung and Park Beom-jun, and enjoy unique performances including a science magic concert and a science musical. The opening ceremony features Dr. Jang Dong-sun as MC, enriching the evening with a blend of media art and music performances.

 

Beyond the Festival

Additional events include a Young Researchers Exchange at the Daejeon ICC Hotel, a Science Community Fair at Hanbat Arboretum, and an Open Science Tour at the Daejeon astronomical observatory. These events ensure that the festival's vibrancy extends throughout the city.

 

Inspiring the Next Generation

Minister of Science and ICT, Lee Jong-ho, invites everyone to "experience and enjoy science in everyday life, encouraging children to foster interest and curiosity in scientific pursuits."
