The Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in Seoul signals spring's arrival, attracting millions. This year, approximately 3.5 million people are expected.
To ensure their safety, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Committee and Yeongdeungpo Police Station have initiated thorough preparations. A safety inspection of the Yeouido Yunjung-ro area is planned before the festival starts on March 29, running until April 2. A safety management expert group, established last March, recommends safety measures for the event.
Over the weekend, when attendance spikes, eight mobile patrol teams will be deployed to handle emergencies. Traffic will be controlled along the 1.7km cherry blossom path from March 28 to April 4 to enhance pedestrian safety. These measures aim to ensure a secure and enjoyable festival experience, blending Seoul's spring beauty with safety.
