Diverse Reading Events and Campaigns Launched for World Book Day

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is commemorating World Book Day with various events at Gwanghwamun's "Book Yard" to promote the importance of reading culture. The event will feature participation from libraries, publishers, and renowned authors, and will include activities such as book gifting, reading sessions, and book talks. Additionally, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In-chon and actor Hwang Jung-min will recite Shakespeare's "Macbeth" to reflect on the value of culture.

Moreover, through the "Recommend My Life Book" campaign, participants can introduce their favorite books and have a chance to win cultural gift vouchers. There are also online reading challenges and live broadcast events on YouTube, allowing people to enjoy World Book Day online.

The ministry aims to expand the base of reading culture and encourage public participation in reading, thereby spreading knowledge and enhancing cultural experiences through these events. Detailed information about the event and participation methods can be found on the integrated reading portal site, "Reading IN".

These events are designed to reaffirm the transmission of knowledge and the value of culture through books, and to widely promote the joy of reading among the public. The goal is to increase participation in reading through various campaigns and challenges and to continuously spread the culture of reading.
